The German-African Business Day will be held for the sixth time in Berlin on June 13th, 2019. This event is one of the leading fora for decision makers from politics, business and civil society and has been established in close cooperation with the Group of African Ambassadors in Berlin. Afrika-Verein will be celebrating its 85th Anniversary this year and as with the history of our association business relations between our two continents started with international trade that took place via the seas, underlining the significant role the maritime sector has always played. This history inspired the topic for this year’s conference, which will be “Blue Economy for Africa’s Growth”.

At the German-African Business Day 2019, we will portray the modern Africa and discuss the growth possibilities that the Blue Economy offers for Africa, including topics concerning fisheries and aquaculture, maritime transportation, logistics and security, renewable energies and maritime monitoring and security. As in previous years, we expect high-ranking guests from Africa and Germany, welcoming government representatives as well as successful German entrepreneurs and their African partners. With the Business Day we want to encourage German businesses to seize the abundant opportunities offered by our neighbouring continent.
